2nd February 2012

Hello movers and shakers, hope this message finds you all well on this rather bright and chilly morning. We’ve a couple of things on todays agenda…
Firstly our super early bird tickets for Saturday 18th February sold out in 24 hours and now our £13 price band tickets are almost gone. The last allocation jumps up to £17, although these will be strictly limited. Pleeease believe us when we say that this party is going to be very small, very intimate and very exclusive, so if you want in you kids should know what to do by now. Tickets are only available from Ticketweb for this party, click here to purchase. There will of course be a handful of tickets available to purchase on the door for cash payers – first come first served as always.
Secondly, our guest alongside Layo & Bushwacka! for this party will be our long time friend, brother in arms and all round man-about-town, Omri H. Omri hasn’t played for us since this time last year, mostly due to his relocation back home to Israel last February, so we thought it high time we get him back behind the decks for this little soirée. Omri has also promised us some new listening material to pass onto you guys, which we’re hoping to get out of him for next week’s eflyer.
Next week we’ll be announcing the location and address of the super little place we’ve got lined up for you. Not easy getting everything together for a warehouse!

29th January 2012

We had planned on waiting until April 5th for our next event, as we have a great new space and a 3rd birthday party, but we got all wistful and nostalgic on Wednesday. It’s been three years since The End closed it’s big silver doors and it seemed we were not alone, so we’ve decided to throw a very special intimate party… at short notice.
So Shake It will be back with our first party of 2012 on Saturday 18th February with resident international jet setters Layo & Bushwacka! Who’ll be fresh back from their two month South American tour, packing glowing tans and hours of hot new music for your dancing pleasure. We’ve recently come across an amazing little space, not wanting to waste any time we’ve snapped it up for our first party of the year.
This venue is small but has the possibility of becoming a Shake It Classic, in fact I’d hazard a guess it will be the smallest place we’ve hosted a Shake It with a capacity of only 500 people! And in true warehouse party tradition, we will be keeping the location under wraps for another week or two, so watch this space.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, that there’ll be a guest… who’s an old friend… who hasn’t played for us for a while… who we’ll be announcing next week…
£10 Early bird tickets are on sale now, available initially through Ticketweb. And yes, I know I say this every time, but tickets for this party will be very limited due to the small size of the venue. So if you’re intending to come along please purchase a ticket well in advance.
So just to recap, Layo & Bushwacka! will be back for the first Shake It of the year on Saturday 18th February 2012 from 10pm – 6am.
Tickets on sale now through Ticketweb priced at an initial £10, hurry hurry as space in this cool little venue will be very limited.

15th December 2011

The year 2011 is drawing to a close and winding down, and so are we.
It’s about time for us to sit back, rest, recuperate and reflect on what has been an exhausting yet thoroughly enjoyable year
for all concerned here at Shake It.
But before we depart, we would just like to thank all the DJs, the venues, all the hard working staff, designers and promotion teams behind the scenes who’ ve helped us to put on some fantastic shows this year.
And of course, it just wouldn’t be a Shake It without… YOU GUYS! So to everyone out there who has bought a ticket, patiently queued up to get in and danced the night away at one of our parties, we send you a thousand thank you’s! We hope you and your families have an amazing
and peaceful Christmas
and New Year.
Keep yourself glued to Shake It’s Facebook and Twitter, and Layo & Bushwacka’s Facebook and Twitter for the latest news and information.
Shake It will return in February 2012.

29th November 2011

Ahead of this Saturday’s final Shake It of 2011, we called up our special guest Paco Osuna and fired a few burning questions we needed answering at him…
Shake It: Hello Paco (or should we call you Francisco!) thanks for speaking with us today…
Paco: I’m good thank you, call me as you prefer but since I have a conscience everybody calls me Paco.
Shake It: I see looking at your calendar that you have been very busy around the world this year!
Is there any country you played at which really stood out for you?
Paco: As always the USA, it is amazing to play for the American crowd, they are super passionate about the music, each time that I visit this country the more fall in love I am with cities such as San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Denver, Miami which are really special for me.
Shake It: I hear that Layo & Bushwacka! were so impressed with your set at Amnesia this summer (Paco is a resident at Ibiza’s Amnesia) that they booked you straight away to play for the Shake It 2011 finale.
Can you tell those who don’ t know wha t your sets normally entail
?
Paco: My sets I guess is a good music mixed with good effects creating a crazy atmosphere… hahahha make sense
?
Shake It: Speaking of Shake it – you are playing with us on Saturday 3rd aren’t you? When were you last over in the UK
?
Paco: Last time was at Ministry of Sound for the Plus 8 vs Minus showcase, actually I was playing with Layo & Bushwacka! too, great memories from the night.
Shake It: Do you enjoy the London scene
?
Paco: I love London scene, I wish I’ll be able to play more often here, is a very good crowd
Shake It: You were born in Barcelona but started DJing in Valencia in 1994 – do you think this region influenced your sound at all
?
Paco: Well maybe not in the sound I’m playing but for sure on the way I mix, my technique.
Shake It: What was the club scene like there back then ?
Paco: It was very nice, like Ibiza right now, a lot of parties, a lot of afterhours was for the moment unique.
Shake It: What made you make the move from playing house music to techno back in 2001
?
Paco: My passion for techno and discover this sound on my residence at amnesia when cocoon start to have its residency.
Shake It: You were the first Spanish DJ to be signed to Sven Vath’s Booking agency – quite an accolade!
Can you tell us how this came about?
Paco: I meet Sven at Amnesia when he started his Cocoon nights and by coincidence he listen a tape mix of mine and offered me to be part of Cocoon. He likes the w ay I w
as mixing and he inspired me a lot on music.
Shake It: You’re hailed as of the most successful Spanish producers / DJ – what sets you apart from other DJs / Producers?
Paco: I don’ t know, maybe I have always in all my se
ts and productions very fat bass lines.
Shake It: Is there anything coming up release wise on your own imprint Mindshake that we should look out for
?
Paco: The new remix I’ve just completed for Kabale und Liebe on Rejected, out so
