Although we travel all over DJing there are places that draw you back for so many reasons; the people, the parties, the culture, the excitement, sometimes just the sheer atmosphere of the place, well Japan has all these qualities in its very own, unique way. And arriving 9 hours ahead of your usual time is quite a curve and adds to the sense of disorientation and wonder at all you see.
Womb is a special club. A dark room, a Steve Dash sound system (the American legend behind so many seminal US clubs) and fantastic lighting and most importantly, a very, very enthusiastic crowd… sounds a bit like Shake It minus the time difference! But the thing that a journey can do is give you perspective so all these things remind us of partying at home in London with all of you for Shake It!
Yes, it’s only 11 days to go until our next Shake It party on Sunday May 30th at 10pm at a new warehouse venue on Bocking Street. It’s a great space right by London Fields, a warm room, perfect for our Funktion 1 sound, it’s going to be a fantastic party, so for those without a ticket yet we still have some available for a very reasonable £12 from Ticketweb, Resident Advisor and Data Transmission.
Online this week we have the second part of our set from the April 1st party, which you can find on either our website or on Soundcloud, and don’t forget to enter our competition if you want to win free tickets to this party and the next one in July.
That about wraps it up for this week, have a fantastic week. See you all soon…
In the lead up to our forthcoming party on Sunday 30th May, we’ll be running our usual competition. However this one is slightly different from the others that have gone before.
We’re asking for you to send us via email, either a cool photograph or short video clip that has been taken at one of our parties over the past year. Which ever one we think is the best / funniest / coolest will win themselves not only two free tickets to the party on 30th May, but also for our following party on 1st July.
Please email your content to info@shakeitlondon.com by Thursday 27th July, winners will be decided upon shortly after.
