Layo & Bushwacka! – Subterrain Reunion

The legendary Subterrain party was THE flagship night at The End, and during it’s time it was pushing cutting edge and underground house and techno DJs, the majority of which have gone on to achieve worldwide fame. Including of course Shake It boys Layo & Bushwacka! The phenominal reunion party held on 10th January 2009 at The End, saw Layo and Matthew back where it all started, in the lounge. We’ve got here for you 2 hours and a half hours of the awesome set they laid down, mixing their favourite records from their time as Subterrain residents with the sounds they’re spinning now.

In the hectic last week of January after The End closing party, when we were all packing up and moving stuff out, it was inevitable that things would get lost or misplaced in all the confusion, including it would seem one of hard drives that was used in the club to record all the DJ sets that we streamed from endclub.com. I was gutted as I knew there were some great recordings on there (like this Subterrain mix) that I knew should go up here.

So how pleased I when it turned up out for the blue having been rescued by our sound engineer Cyclon the last day?!! Big up.

Over the next couple of weeks and months we’ll definately be getting some sets from The End’s last months, plus some new L&B mixes recorded on their travels…

    Hey Jim
Can’t help you with 2:03, but the last track on the mix is X-Press 2 Muzik Express and the second last is Chelonis R Jones ‘I Don’t Know’ on Get Physical. I think it’s the Original Mix, but if you like the track check out the Just Us mixes on GPM011 – the Just Us Dub is one of my all time favourite tracks.
    Cheers

hey, guys, the intro had me trippin. I’m much obliged. that’s how I got into tech house in the first place. I used to listen to a cassette with mr c’s beats in my 1985 chevrolet caprice on the way to play soccer, as we say. this was in Washington, DC thanks. -chintz
